The Yoga Church 3-Part Spring Retreat
Join us at the Yoga Church Gathering this month for three special practices to help usher in the season of spring with intention.
Part 1 – REST
March 7th, 2021 – 9:30-11am (pacific time) / 12:30-2pm (eastern time)
As the seasons change, it’s common to feel unbalanced and ungrounded. As the earth’s energy shifts around us, our inner energy shifts. In order to meet this shifting energy with intention, we take time to pause and rest. We take time to root ourselves in the Truth of our Being. We practice Yoga Nidra, which is a fully guided meditation practice designed to bring us into a state of consciousness somewhere between waking and sleeping. It diffuses our attention and leads us on a journey through all levels of our being. It’s an utterly nourishing practice that offers deep relaxation for the body and mind.
Part 2 – INTENTION
March 14th, 2021 – 9:30-11am (pacific time) / 12:30-2pm (eastern time)
The spring equinox marks the beginning of the active phase of the year. In spring, the earth wakes up. There’s new life everywhere! Buds on the trees and tiny shoots pushing up through the still cold ground. With the shifting of seasons, we can shift our intentions. But before we jump into action and goal setting, we take time to listen inward. Through an ancient practice of yogic meditation, we connect with the Hridaya Guha (the cave of the heart) and listen to our inner voice of Wisdom. We allow our seasonal intentions to arise from deep within.
Part 3 – RITUAL
March 21th, 2021 – 9:30-11am (pacific time) / 12:30-2pm (eastern time)
As we celebrate the Spring Equinox, we take time to engage our senses (hearing, touching, seeing, tasting, and smelling) to explore how the elements (space, air, fire, water, and earth) are manifesting in this season. We use this information to help us make choices that lead to balance. And in preparation for a celebratory ritual, we gather objects to build an altar dedicated to the Pancha Maha Bhutas (the 5 great elements). We honor and bless the elements. We honor and bless our senses. We reconnect with the wild nature around us and within us.
