Yoga Practice Begins with Ethics

Yoga is a state of being AND the practices that help us reach that state of being.

In the 2nd chapter of the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, we’re offered an 8-limbed path of practice that includes everything you would suspect: movement, breath, meditation. But it begins with ethics. It begins with relationship.

The first two limbs of yoga practice are Yama (5 restraints that support living in right relationship with others) and Niyama (5 observances that support living in right relationship with Self).
